The North America Defense Application Engineer will be responsible for technical sales for defense-focused programs, with primary emphasis on military base electrification projects as well as other defense opportunities
This role is responsible for providing technical leadership across the sales project lifecycle, from requirements definition and system architecture through proposal submission, design reviews, and customer engagement.
The engineer will act as a key technical interface with defense customers, prime contractors, and internal engineering, product management, and program teams to ensure solutions meet functional requirements, technical/environmental standards, and mission objectives.Job Description
Key responsibilities:
Demonstrated experience developing technical proposals for military base electrification projects focused on generation, distribution and control
Strong technical background in electrical power systems, power electronics, or energy systems supporting military mission‑critical applications.
Proven experience supporting military or government programs, including requirements flow-down, compliance, and customer technical reviews.
Ability to translate customer operational needs into system-level technical solutions and specifications.
Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to serve as the primary technical interface with defense customers and prime contractors.
Working knowledge of relevant defense standards, qualification processes, and configuration control practices.
Ability to manage priorities, and workloads across multiple concurrent programs.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required qualifications:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience, including application engineering, systems engineering, or power systems roles supporting complex technical programs.
At least 3 years of experience writing technical proposals for electrical systems
Demonstrated experience working in defense, naval, or government‑funded programs, including direct interaction with customers and program stakeholders.
U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
Ability to travel up to 20% based on the business needs
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $108,600.00 and $181,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
