As an Annuity Marketing Strategist, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by driving the Consumer Markets Division’s growth and long-term success. Your work will inform strategic direction, influence how we go-to-market, and strengthen relationships with the advisors and firms we serve. This position operates as an individual contributor within our team, exercising execution leadership and strategic judgment.

How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Develop deep expertise in assigned channels and serve as the annuity product expert for Marketing by providing insights, guidance, and expertise that inform campaign strategies, positioning, and communications to ensure materials align with business needs.
  • Drive go-to-market strategy and execution of product launches and omnichannel marketing campaigns—including email, social, and web—to build awareness and adoption of annuity products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Marketing partners—including Creative Services, Marketing Operations, Digital Execution, and Campaign Management—to ensure campaigns, messaging, and initiatives align with business priorities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to execute campaigns and promotional opportunities and identify ways to educate internal teams and support their marketing efforts.
  • Represent Marketing in strategic cross-functional meetings such as PMO by receiving updates on product or timing changes, advising on marketing impacts, and communicating key information back to the Marketing team for alignment.
  • Ensure annuity product materials are timely, compliant, and effectively distributed across relevant channels.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and field feedback to translate insights into actionable marketing strategies and product positioning that maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Examine performance of campaigns and initiatives, using data and feedback to refine strategies and optimize impact.
  • Proactively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders and teammates to ensure alignment, clarity, and transparency throughout projects and initiatives.
  • Inform dynamic digital tools and sales collateral that help financial professionals and clients understand complex retirement income strategies.
  • May perform additional duties assigned.

The experience you bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing within financial services; experience with an annuity or asset management firm is preferred. Financial services sales experience is valued.

  • Exhibit excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization, tailoring messages to effectively engage executives, peers, cross-functional partners, and team members.

  • Demonstrate experience developing marketing deliverables such as pitch decks, creative briefs, and email journey maps to support campaign strategy and execution.

  • Development of integrated marketing plans that build awareness, drive engagement, and generate leads.

  • Communicate effectively, manage time well, and pay close attention to detail while handling multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.

  • Collaborate across teams and demonstrate leadership to build strong working relationships.

  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and shifting timelines.

What makes you stand out:

  • Excel in fast-paced environments, managing multiple complex projects at once with minimal oversight.
  • Apply data-driven thinking to solve problems and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing channels and tactics.
  • Communicate marketing, business, and technical needs clearly to align teams and achieve goals.
  • Take ownership of learning their business lines through proactive research, curiosity, and initiative.
  • Proactively drive personal and professional development along with identifying opportunities for teammates.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
