Who is Flock?

Flock Safety is the leading safety technology platform, helping communities thrive by taking a proactive approach to crime prevention and security. Our hardware and software suite connects cities, law enforcement, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods in a nationwide public-private safety network. Trusted by over 5,000 communities, 4,500 law enforcement agencies, and 1,000 businesses, Flock delivers real-time intelligence while prioritizing privacy and responsible innovation.

We’re a high-performance, low-ego team driven by urgency, collaboration, and bold thinking. Working at Flock means tackling big challenges, moving fast, and continuously improving. It’s intense but deeply rewarding for those who want to make an impact.

With nearly $700M in venture funding and a $7.5B valuation, we’re scaling intentionally and seeking top talent to help build the impossible. If you value teamwork, ownership, and solving tough problems, Flock could be the place for you.

The Opportunity

Flock’s rapid growth has created rising demand for analytics support across Finance, Revenue, and Customer Success. This role will be pivotal in redefining core financial metrics while also shaping reporting to impact Customer Success strategy.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will:

  • Lead with data by defining, building, and owning end-to-end analytical solutions — from modeling to pipeline to dashboard — that guide key business decisions.

  • Develop with an Analytics-as-Code mindset, leveraging Redshift, dbt, SQL, and Git to deliver scalable, version-controlled data pipelines and trusted metrics.

  • Design streamlined, impactful dashboards (in Sigma) that empower stakeholders with fast, clear insights for strategic decision-making.

  • Own data products end-to-end, taking radical responsibility to establish single sources of truth and expand self-service data adoption across Flock.

The Skillset
  • 5+ years of impact-driven experience as an Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer, or Data Analyst, with a track record of turning raw data into business-changing insights

  • Strong communicator and problem-solver, able to design and deliver end-to-end data solutions for complex, ambiguous challenges

  • SQL powerhouse with proven expertise in dbt and Git, driving scalable, version-controlled analytics workflows

  • Data modeling champion, experienced in implementing best practices within enterprise data warehouses to ensure accuracy and performance

  • Builder of modern BI solutions (Sigma experience a strong plus), delivering intuitive dashboards and reports that enable smarter, faster decisions

  • RevTech stack fluent, with hands-on experience in Salesforce, Gainsight, and other core revenue technologies; proven partner to Revenue, Customer Success, and Finance teams

  • Forward-looking innovator, experimenting with AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Glean) to streamline internal workflows and unlock new ways of enabling the business

Feeling uneasy that you haven’t ticked every box? That’s okay; we’ve felt that way too. Studies have shown women and minorities are less likely to apply unless they meet all qualifications. We encourage you to break the status quo and apply to roles that would make you excited to come to work every day.

The Interview Process

We want our interview process to be a true reflection of our culture: transparent and collaborative. Throughout the interview process, your recruiter will guide you through the next steps and ensure you feel prepared every step of the way.

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background and what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
