What You'll Do:
- Own the design, development, testing, and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and analytical content that support critical Finance and Accounting decisions.
- Partner with business and technical teams to gather requirements, define metrics, and translate user needs into scalable, high-quality BI solutions.
- Design and maintain semantic views that provide trusted business context, standardized metrics, and governed data for AI agent consumption.
- Develop self-service reporting and visualizations in Tableau, Sigma, or similar tools, with a focus on usability, performance, and trusted data.
- Build and support SQL transformations, data models, pipelines, and API-driven integrations that deliver accurate and timely analytical datasets.
- Champion reporting and analysis best practices, including data integrity, test design, validation, documentation, and change management.
- Provide leadership and business partners with recurring and ad hoc analyses that clearly communicate findings, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Identify automation opportunities using Python, AWS, AI, or other technologies to simplify workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Investigate data discrepancies and reporting issues, coordinate resolution across teams, and communicate impacts and next steps to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve reporting, data products, and development processes to increase the quality, accessibility, and value of Chewy's data.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in business intelligence engineering, analytics engineering, report development, or a related data discipline.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex transformations and experience working with columnar or cloud-based data warehouses.
- Hands-on experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions in Tableau or a similar BI and visualization tool.
- Working knowledge of Python and experience supporting data pipelines, APIs, automation scripts, or analytical workflows.
- Ability to acquire data from multiple sources, maintain reusable data structures, and validate datasets for analytical use.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to subject matter experts and executive leadership.
- Comfort with self-directed learning, changing priorities, and taking ownership in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Bonus:
- Experience with AWS, Snowflake, and/or Sigma.
- Experience supporting Finance and Accounting analytics or reporting.
- Familiarity with dbt, dimensional data modeling, or automated testing.
