Ameresco has an opening for a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy management and sustainability. This role involves supporting senior consultants in delivering high-quality energy and sustainability solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Carbon Footprint Analysis: Conduct comprehensive carbon footprint assessments for various clients, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Sustainability Reporting: Assist in the preparation of sustainability reports, including greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories in alignment with GHG protocol.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data related to energy consumption, utility bills, and building energy systems. Use software tools to support analysis of energy performance, inform sustainability strategies and targets, and track progress.
  • Energy Audits and Assessments: Conduct on-site energy audits to evaluate energy usage and identify opportunities for energy and emissions reduction. Analyze energy consumption data to determine patterns and inefficiencies.
  • Project Coordination: Support project management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their energy management and sustainability goals and provide tailored recommendations to achieve energy management improvements and carbon reduction targets.
  • Compliance and Certification: Support client compliance efforts ensuring that energy management practices comply with relevant regulations and standards. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant environmental regulations and standards nationwide.
  • Training and Education: Assist in delivering training programs for clients and internal teams on energy management and sustainability practices and tools. Assist in developing educations materials and resources for clients.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest energy management and sustainability trends, technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement in our services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management and/or a Sustainability related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in sustainability consulting, carbon management, energy management or a related role.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated passion for energy management, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power BI). Familiarity with building software packages and building energy modeling techniques considered a plus.
  • Experience with energy benchmarking techniques, energy performance modeling, and GHG guidelines for carbon calculations and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Understanding of energy efficiency, climate risk, and life-cycle benefits of sustainable practices.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in energy management and sustainability practices. Working towards relevant industry certifications and qualifications is a plus.
