The Analyst, Corporate Accounting is a key member of the Corporate Accounting team and plays an important role in team success while learning and contributing to a variety of accounting tasks. The are detail-oriented, well-versed in transactional accounting, and motivated with a can-do attitude.
This position will be based at our West Los Angeles, CA office. We work a hybrid schedule with an in-office requirement Monday-Wednesday and the option to work remotely on Thursday and Friday.
Job Description- Perform month-end close activities including preparing and posting journal entries, analyzing variances, and using insights to identify process improvements.
- Assist in completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate across functions to code corporate SG&A invoices and route through the appropriate approval matrix.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and proactively resolve reconciling items.
- Analyze accounting transactions, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the corporate intercompany billing process, including recurring budget-based allocations and miscellaneous bill-back activity.
- Process recurring allocations such as healthcare, corporate communications, and Wonderful Agency charges.
- Monitor and account for miscellaneous intercompany billings generated through Accounts Payable and Concur.
- Record, reconcile, and analyze intercompany debt balances and related activity.
- Record and reconcile master concentration cash account transactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, standardization, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Partner with various departments to quickly resolve any issues that arise surrounding job responsibilities.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure alignment with the rest of the team and to ensure deadlines are met.
- Communicate in an effective and timely manner within the team and with other departments.
- Demonstrate curiosity and inquisitiveness to learn more about work assignments, the department, and the company overall.
- Assist in special projects and ad hoc requests such as supporting the year-end audit, internal financial reporting, compliance initiatives, and tax filings.
- Serve as a reliable backup for certain functions in the department.
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, with strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Preferred, but not required:
- Major ERP system experience, preferably Oracle.
- Experience with internal and external auditors.
- CPA or CPA candidate.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Effective multitasking, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach to overcoming challenges.
Pay Range: $34.62 - $39.60/hr. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
