Candescent is building the next generation of intelligent, predictive, and agentic digital banking experiences. As our AI Senior Designer – Agentic & Predictive Experiences Lead/Manager, you drive the UX vision for next-generation, agents AI experiences - moving beyond chat into intelligent assistants that predict, guide, and take safe action. Lead the design direction, mentor designers, and partner across AI, Data and Product to define how AI delivers real, trustworthy value at scale.

Design & Innovation
  • Lead design for agentic and predictive AI user experiences, including proactive systems that reason, take action, and simulate outcomes on behalf of users.
  • Develop multimodal, generative, and learning-loop interactions, ensuring AI behaves with clarity, explainability, and appropriate autonomy.
  • Create design frameworks that support identity-aware, predictive, and simulation-driven experiences.
AI Experience Craft
  • Build interaction models that distinguish between conversational AI and agentic AI, defining how and when the system initiates actions.
  • Shape predictive UX patterns that help users understand why the system is acting, and provide appropriate review, approval, and override moments.
Systems Thinking & Architecture
  • Establish reusable components, patterns, and guardrails for agentic and predictive experiences across product lines.
  • Collaborate with AI and data teams to design human-in-the-loop workflows, transparency mechanisms, and trust‑building UI elements.
Leadership
  • Serve as a player‑coach, balancing hands-on design with leadership of designers across AI initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leaders in AI & Data Product, Product Management, Engineering, and Content to define vision, roadmaps, and experience strategy.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on interaction patterns, ethical design principles, and user‑centric AI behavior.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Experience designing AI powered systems, not just conversational interfaces.
  • Strong grounding in trust, transparency and explainability.
  • Ability to create intuitive, ethical, and seamless interactions between people and AI.
  • Experience in learning Loop design - feedback, corrections, personalization.
  • Experience in simulation & preview patterns so users understand outcomes before acting.
  • Policy and autonomy modeling- when AI suggests, acts, escalates, or asks permission
  • Deep understanding of user mental models and how they evolve when AI takes on more responsibility

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
