Job Description

Fortune Brands Innovations (FBIN) is a market-leading home products company behind iconic brands, including Moen, Master Lock, Yale, Therma-Tru, etc. Our Connected Products Engineering (CPE) organization builds the next generation of smart home products — and we're looking for an Agile Delivery Manager to help us ship it reliably. This is not a ceremony facilitator role. You will own delivery outcomes across 2–3 cross-functional software teams (PODs), eliminate the blockers slowing them down, and apply AI-powered tools to raise what great agile delivery looks like.

Location: This position is eligible for hybrid schedule (Mondays and Fridays are remote) from either our Deerfield, IL HQ or San Francisco, CA.

What You'll Own

  • Sprint commitment reliability (90%+) across assigned PODs — through facilitation that drives outcomes, not checkbox compliance.
  • Impediment removal with urgency: team-level blockers resolved within one business day; cross-POD blockers within two. Visible impediment log maintained at all times.
  • Systemic problem diagnosis — identify root causes behind recurring blockers and escalate with solution recommendations, not just flags.
  • Cross-functional dependency coordination 2+ sprints ahead, partnering with Product, QA, and Engineering to prevent integration failures before they happen.
  • iOS and Android release coordination across scrum teams, including management of global development dependencies across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • AI-powered delivery improvements — use Claude Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, and similar tools to accelerate retrospectives, planning, documentation, and process optimization.
  • Delivery health reporting to leadership — velocity, cycle time, sprint commitment reliability, and Definition of Done compliance with clear trend analysis.
  • Team agile maturity — coach teams toward higher autonomy, sustainable pace, and measurable improvement in quality and engagement over time.

Qualifications

  • Must have and be able to demonstrate outcomes as an Agile Delivery Lead in software engineering — measured by team metrics, not tenure.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Scrum and Kanban; daily hands-on use of Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder influence skills — with a bias toward action and accountability.
  • Technical fluency across mobile (iOS/Android), backend services, APIs, SDKs, and firmware — able to engage engineers credibly.
  • Active AI tool user (Claude Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) with the ability to demonstrate productivity gains.
  • Experience coordinating distributed, global development teams across time zones and cultures.
  • Agile certifications preferred: Scrum.org PSM I or PSM II, or equivalent

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
