After School Program Site Coordinator, Grant (Mid City/Mid Wilshire)
Position Summary
Every afternoon, families trust the YMCA to provide a place where their children can continue learning, build friendships, and discover new interests after the final school bell rings. As the Site Coordinator, Beyond the Bell Grant, you'll lead the team that makes those experiences possible. In this leadership role, you'll coordinate a high quality, grant funded after school program serving students on an LAUSD campus, creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child feels a sense of belonging. You'll support and coach Team Members, build strong partnerships with school staff and families, and lead engaging club based experiences that help students build confidence, develop new skills, and thrive beyond the classroom. How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead a high quality, grant funded after school program where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn every day.
- Coach, mentor, and support a team of YMCA Team Members to deliver engaging club based experiences and enrichment opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, families, and community partners to strengthen the program and support student success.
- Create purposeful experiences that promote academic achievement, leadership, belonging, and positive youth development.
- Help ensure the program operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with YMCA and grant requirements while fostering a positive culture for children and staff.
Schedule
This is a part-time benefited, grant funded, position that follows the school calendar. Site Coordinators typically work Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., approximately 35 hours per week, leading after school programming on school days. Paid morning, evening, and weekend trainings, professional development, family events, and special events are required throughout the year. Additional opportunities for work are be available during school intersessions and breaks, including summer day camp and other YMCA youth programs, to maintain the 35 hours per week and benefited status. Alternative roles and positions are available during school intersessions and breaks; these position may be offered at alternative location and alternative payrates.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Twenty one (21) years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College coursework in Child Development, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete the district required basic education assessment.
- Experience leading adults and working with school age children in a group setting.
- Experience planning and implementing age appropriate, developmentally appropriate youth programs.
- Strong communication skills, emotional maturity, and the ability to build positive, authentic relationships with children, families, school staff, and Team Members.
- Current EMSA First Aid and Adult, Infant, and Child CPR certifications, or the ability to obtain required certifications as a condition of employment.
- Completion of required health screenings and background clearances prior to working with participants.
