About the Role:

Ooma is seeking an experienced Affiliate Marketing & AI Discovery Consultant to support and advance our B2B affiliate marketing program during a maternity leave coverage period.

During this engagement, you’ll manage and optimize ongoing affiliate initiatives while helping Ooma prepare for the growing impact of AI-powered search and large language models (LLMs) on B2B buyer behavior. You’ll develop strategies to improve Ooma’s visibility and likelihood of being recommended across AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and emerging AI-driven discovery experiences.

You’ll bring hands-on affiliate marketing expertise and a strong understanding of how AI-generated answers, review sites, comparison platforms, and authoritative third-party content influence B2B purchase decisions.

**Contract length: 4-6 months

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage and optimize Ooma’s B2B affiliate marketing program during maternity leave coverage, keeping ongoing initiatives on track and identifying opportunities to improve lead generation, pipeline contribution, and return on investment.
  • Maintain relationships with affiliates, publishers, review sites, comparison platforms, and strategic referral partners, and explore opportunities to strengthen and expand these partnerships.
  • Assess how AI-powered search platforms and large language models (LLMs) influence how buyers discover and evaluate business communications providers.
  • Identify high-value third-party publishers, review sites, directories, forums, and industry resources where a stronger Ooma presence could support visibility in traditional search and AI-generated answers.
  • Recommend content, partnership, and affiliate strategies to improve discovery across business communications, UCaaS, cloud phone systems, POTS replacement, and related solution categories, and advance agreed-upon initiatives during the engagement.
  • Create a practical, prioritized roadmap for evolving Ooma’s affiliate, content, and partner marketing strategy as AI-driven search and buying behaviors develop, including recommended next steps and measures of progress.
  • Monitor performance and provide regular reporting, insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Document key relationships, ongoing initiatives, and strategic recommendations to support a smooth handoff at the end of the engagement.

Experience We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B affiliate, partnership, referral, or performance marketing; 8+ years total work experience required.
  • Hands-on experience managing affiliate programs and relationships with publishers, review sites, comparison platforms, or referral partners.
  • Experience marketing SaaS, telecommunications, UCaaS, CCaaS, business communications, or related technology solutions.
  • An understanding of how third-party content and recommendations influence B2B purchase decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered search and discovery, along with experience developing content or partnership strategies that support visibility across traditional search and emerging AI channels.
  • Experience translating performance data and market insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to get up to speed quickly and balance ongoing program needs with focused strategic projects. #LI-CC1

**The anticipated monthly consulting stipend for this engagement is $10,000 - 12,000, subject to adjustment based on qualifications and agreed-upon deliverables.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
