Job Description:

Advanced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer

We are pleased to announce that Solventum has entered into a definitive agreement to sell our Purification & Filtration business to Thermo Fisher Scientific. This transaction is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, receipt of regulatory approvals, and country specific information and consultation needs where required. This is a significant milestone for the P&F business and will allow for the strategic investment and resources needed for sustaining growth and delivering customer solutions. By joining us during this transitional period, you will be able to work alongside an energized and mission-driven team who is experiencing this transition along with you. The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Advanced EHS Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Actively supporting EHS Cultural Excellence through personal responsibility for safety, health, and environment, promoting a culture to address incidents, near-misses and potential hazards.  Applying scientific, engineering principles and behavioral based systems to drive EHS risk reduction efforts and compliance activities

  • Leading and/or participating on incident investigation with other team members, completing root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions and conducting assessments of high hazard processes in order to reduce risk

  • Participating and/or leading portions of EHS self-assessments, audits and EHS program development in areas including, but not limited to, fall protection, lockout tagout, machine guarding, confined space entry/rescue, chemical safety, TSCA, respirator and PPE programs, site emergency coordination and waste management (including hazardous waste management)

  • Providing EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment, industrial automation, and management of change processes

  • Completing internal and external EHS compliance reports and analyze EHS data and report trends

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND (2) years of EHS manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment  

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • State and Federal regulations compliance and reporting experience, including EPA, OSHA, CTDEEP

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, or environmental health and safety (EHS) discipline from an accredited institution

  • Experience with hazard and risk assessments and experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Self-directed, detail oriented, good interpersonal, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills; ability to work closely with all employees in the plant

  • EHS certification(s):  OSHA 10, OSHA 30, ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH, CHMM

Work location:

  • Onsite (Meriden, CT)

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
