Come build your future with us.

About the Role:

Homebound’s Investment Strategy team is hiring an Acquisitions Analyst to support our infill development pipeline. This role is central to how we evaluate and secure new properties. You will underwrite infill opportunities, coordinate diligence, and keep cross-functional teams aligned on the financial viability of each potential deal.

This is an execution-focused position that requires consistency, accuracy, and strong analytical judgment. Expect a steady cadence of evaluating opportunities, reviewing comps, updating assumptions, and moving deals through a structured diligence process.

Prefer candidates in Dallas, Houston, or Tampa/St. Petersburg.

What You’ll Do:
  • Underwrite on- and off-market residential opportunities using internal pricing tools and external data.

  • Review dozens of opportunities weekly and identify which opportunities meet Homebound’s criteria.

  • Lead key diligence items including zoning, utilities, taxes, insurance, easements, and HOA or municipal constraints.

  • Coordinate with Architecture & Design, Procurement, Operations, and Strategy to ensure assumptions align with buildability and margin targets.

  • Prepare deal summaries, sensitivities, and recommendations for leadership.

  • Maintain comps libraries, market dashboards, and acquisition KPIs.

  • Assist with investment materials for external capital partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as needed.

What You Bring:
  • BS/BA in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related analytical field.

  • 1-2 years of experience in single-family residential acquisitions, ideally for a large home builder or real estate institution.

  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to evaluate data accurately and quickly.

  • High attention to detail and personal accountability.

  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to manage consistent underwriting volume with limited oversight.

  • Comfort learning new markets, workflows, and tools in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interest in residential real estate, development, and investment analysis.

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel for basic financial modeling and analysis.

Our Commitment:

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role, but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. To apply, please submit an application with your resume on the Career’s page.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
