Manage accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, GL, cash receipts, purchasing, capital assets), lead monthly reconciliations and financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, coordinate audits and grants compliance, prepare ACFR, enforce internal controls, and supervise and mentor accounting staff.
We are partnering with a well-established public sector organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee critical financial operations and support the organization's long-term fiscal success.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, cash receipts, purchasing, and capital assets
• Assist with budget preparation, financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis
• Manage monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
• Coordinate annual audits, grants compliance, ACFR preparation, and internal controls
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while driving process improvements
• Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards, policies, and regulations
• Assist with budget preparation, financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Municipal/government accounting experience strongly preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience within a public sector or municipal environment
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls
• CPA and/or Master's degree preferred
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
