About Azira

Azira is a location intelligence platform built for today’s data-driven teams, transforming mobile location signals into high-confidence, privacy-first insights. Our technology helps marketing, operations, and data leaders make smarter decisions, optimize performance, and drive measurable growth. From retailers and media agencies to destination marketers and real estate teams, we deliver trusted, validated insights rooted in real-world behavior, connecting the dots between where people go and how businesses can better reach, serve, and grow their audiences.

Why This Role Matters

We are looking for a high-judgment, hands-on Accounting Manager to play a central role in strengthening and scaling our finance foundation. Reporting to the Global Controller and partnering closely with FP&A and the CFO, this role will help ensure financial accuracy, operational rigor, and disciplined execution as the company grows.

This position goes beyond transactional accounting. You’ll help shape processes, reinforce internal controls, and elevate the overall quality and scalability of our accounting operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and continuously improve the month-end close process, ensuring it is accurate, timely, and coordinated across U.S. and global teams
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses with strong attention to detail and documentation standards
  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to US GAAP, identifying areas of risk and proactively recommending improvements
  • Partner closely with FP&A and the CFO on reporting insights, forecast alignment, and financial analysis
  • Support audit readiness and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors
  • Enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to build a scalable and well-controlled environment
  • Identify process gaps and implement practical, sustainable improvements in a lean-team setting
  • Provide guidance and informal leadership to junior team members and contribute to a high-performing finance culture

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally Big 4 or strong mid-tier public accounting training. Must have an active CPA license to be considered.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and experience operating within well-controlled close environments
  • Experience working in growing or evolving organizations where structure is still being built
  • Strong ownership mindset is key: you take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and operate independently
  • Ability to balance detail orientation with a broader understanding of financial impact and business context
  • Clear, confident communication skills across cross-functional and international teams
  • Experience working with distributed or offshore accounting teams (a plus)
  • Prior mentoring or informal leadership experience (a plus)

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Competitive base salary (annual): $120,000 – $140,000 USD (depending on experience)
  • Bonus eligible; standard Azira benefits included
  • Full medical, dental, vision, and PTO benefits
  • Flexible remote work environment (U.S.-based)
  • Direct exposure to senior finance leadership and meaningful influence on how Finance scales
  • Collaborative, high-trust culture with strong ownership

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
