PetPlace, a subsidiary of IPH, is building a digital first pet e-commerce platform with the aim of connecting key market services such as adoption, lost pet and insurance to make pet care easy.

Job Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees and develops the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and process improvements. This role involves managing reconciliations, audits, and cross-departmental collaboration while driving strategic initiatives. A CPA license, leadership experience, and proficiency in accounting systems are highly preferred.
Job Description:
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Personnel management and development of the accounting team (“the team”), including performance evaluation and coaching.
- Reviewing of all accounting entries, bank reconciliations and other general ledger account reconciliations.
- Analyzing current accounting practices and processes. Make recommendations and implementing efficiencies within the team and the business to ensuring integrity of the general ledgers.
- Manage external and regulatory reviews, audits and examinations when needed and complete requested materials.
- Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility and for other businesses within the Company.
- Provide assistance to the planning & analysis function and the tax function on a routine basis.
- Performing various ad hoc financial and operational analyses and contributing to department and organization special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as allocated.
Core Competencies :
- Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently and as part of a team in a highly deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work with other functional teams including with business leaders as a finance support.
- Demonstrated ability for improving and streamlining accounting processes.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and financial reporting. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Been through a system conversion and experience in acceptance testing methodologies.
- Strong pro-active characteristics.
- Strong believer of continuous improvement with an ability to effect process or cultural changes.
- Good working knowledge of control over financial reporting (e.g. SOX) framework.
- Flexible in work schedule to meet the demands of various reporting cycles.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7 years’ relevant work experience to include leadership.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- CPA license preferred.
