Position Title: Accounting Manager

Department: Accounting

Location: Remote (Candidates must be available to work standard business hours in the Eastern Time Zone.)

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000

Reports To: VP - Finance

Installation Made Easy (“IME”) provides software and process management that enable retailers and contractors to offer installed home improvements to homeowners in a convenient, consistent, and affordable manner. IME senior management has over 100 years of retail management and home improvement industry experience.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial reporting process monthly including coordinating month end close deadlines, reconciliation review, exception corrections, accruals, financial statement creation and financial statement publication. The Accounting Manager will also assist with quarterly financial covenant and compliance reporting and interim and year-end financial statement audits.

The ideal candidate will be deadline driven and can work independently. The candidate should take ownership of their responsibilities and take the initiative to understand the who, what, why and how of processes from beginning to end.

The Accounting Manager will work closely with many departments within the company, including Central Processing, Customer Solutions, Business Development, Field Operations, Software Development, and the Executive Management Team.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to team that is comprised of Staff and Senior Accountants
  • Ensure Process Walkthroughs and Standard Operating Procedures are documented and maintained for each process
  • Review account reconciliations monthly, provide timely feedback to preparers, and follow up to ensure resolution
  • Oversee monthly accounting close, ensuring deadlines are met throughout the process and work to gain efficiencies to further reduce timelines
  • Create monthly financial package including MD&A to explain variances to budget and last year
  • Analyze KPIs and make recommendations to other departments, such as Operations, to maximize revenue and minimize expenses
  • Create quarterly BOD package
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals and ensure proposals are provided to Executive Team in a timely manner
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for interim and annual financial statement audit and achieve audit result with minimal adjustments
  • Coordinate upload of budgets to both the accounting software and reporting software and ensure budgets reflect correctly in financial statements
  • Lead/assist in special projects such as system implementations and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance management role
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Professional demeanor
  • Sound judgment and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and ability to adapt to various software packages
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Efficient and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing or multiple priorities.
  • Positive attitude and able to adapt to change easily

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CPA

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
