Summary: Responsible for leading and overseeing the client services and General Ledger function, managing a team of Association Controllers and their respective teams. Ensures timely and accurate completion of financial statements, supports full-cycle accounting operations, drives the budgeting process, and manages escalations. Works with the community association managers, general managers, property developers, community association Board of Directors and third-party service providers on financial matters. Combines strong technical accounting expertise with proven people-management and stakeholder-communication skills to build and manage their team effectively.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Establish department goals aligned with company objectives and HOA client expectations.
  • Ensures monthly financials are accurate and timely by overseeing Controllers and their teams.
  • Prepares timely and accurate monthly financial statements for key accounts monthly.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves accounting issues in collaboration with community management.
  • Meets with clients to understand and plan financial needs.
  • Oversees general ledger department processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for directing Team Members to achieve results by providing guidance to ensure departmental success. 
  • Leads, monitors, and develops Team Members by providing supervision, feedback, coaching, and delivering recognition and rewards to ensure high performance.
  • Participates in the hiring process by interviewing candidates and selecting those that best meet staffing needs.
  • Mentors, coaches, and evaluates controllers to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and makes merit decisions for team within budget and established guidelines. 
  • Participates in management trainings and follows all Human Resources policies.
  • Ensures the team receive any required training as needed.
  • Manages special projects as requested.
  • Practices and adheres to Keystone’s Core Values, Mission, and Vision.
  • Any additional job duties as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must maintain a MVR that meets Company insurance requirements. 
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive.
  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate team members in a high-volume, time sensitive environment.
  • Excellent employee relations skills and ability to engage team members to foster a high level of employee satisfaction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and collaboration skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to perform above duties with minimal supervision.
  • Verifiable references.
  • Able to pass a background check. 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Prior experience in HOA accounting and proficiency with Vantaca software.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounting/General Ledger.
  • 5+ years in leadership overseeing multi-entity or portfolio accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CPA experience is desired.
  • Real Estate experience is desired.
