A company in Bakersfield is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help strengthen financial processes as the organization grows. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional ready to take ownership, lead a team, and work closely with leadership.
The Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and daily accounting activities while ensuring accurate and timely financial information. This role will also support budgeting, audits, internal controls, and ongoing process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting
- Oversee AP, AR, and other day-to-day accounting functions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate audit requests and ensure accurate supporting documentation
- Maintain and strengthen accounting policies and internal controls
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
