We’re looking for an Accounting Director with deep accounting knowledge to help manage our day-to-day financial operations, provide practical insight into business decisions, and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements. We were the first to use technology and a fresh approach to simplify and speed up the process of writing personal umbrella coverage. Day-to-day you’ll:

· Prepare, analyze, and review financial reports

· Handle month-end journal entries, bank reconciliations, and related monthly close procedures

· Review monthly income statements against budget and investigate variances

· Support the CFO and accounting team with ad-hoc analysis and tasks

· Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards

· Help coordinate annual and quarterly reporting, budget planning, fixed assets tracking, 1099s, and unclaimed property

· Document and improve our financial/accounting SOPs

This list isn’t exhaustive—our team is small, and we wear lots of hats.

To qualify, you’ll need:

· At least 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis

· Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP

· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

· Help implement and document internal controls over financial reporting

· Coordinate technical accounting memos for complex transactions

· Assist in selecting and implementing systems and tools to scale accounting and reporting capabilities

· Insurance industry accounting experience preferred

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

· Stay current on accounting and regulatory changes

Annual Salary: $110,000 - $130,000 Final salary depends on factors like role scope, your background, and market benchmarks.
