We are actively seeking an entry level Accountant. This is a non-exempt, full-time assignment, located in Torrance, CA, and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Position Summary
The Accountant I supports the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department by performing a variety of accounting functions, including corporate credit card reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial record maintenance. This position is designed for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and eager to learn. Working closely with members of the accounting team, this role provides exposure to a broad range of accounting processes while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•    Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
•    Review employee expense documentation to ensure compliance with Company policies.
•    Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice matching, coding, vendor setup, and payment processing.
•    Support accounts receivable activities, including cash application, payment tracking, collections support, and customer account reconciliation.
•    Prepare account reconciliations and resolve outstanding variances.
•    Assist with preparing journal entries and supporting documentation.
•    Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
•    Maintain accurate accounting records, electronic files, and supporting documentation.
•    Prepare reports and schedules using Microsoft Excel.
•    Research accounting issues and assist with resolving discrepancies.
•    Respond to internal inquiries regarding accounting transactions and financial records.
•    Assist with audits by gathering documentation and supporting schedules.
•    Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
•    Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
•    Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay: $31.25 to $36.06 per hour

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•    0–2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
•    Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Strong organizational and time management skills.
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
•    Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Internship or prior experience in corporate accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping.
•    Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
•    Experience using ERP or accounting software.
•    Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
 

Education
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline required.
•    CPA eligibility or plans to pursue professional certification is a plus.
