Based in Los Angeles, this role is designed for a PR professional with 5–6 years of experience who lives for the rabbit hole of The Verge, WIRED, and Fast Company, but also understands the cultural influence of Hypebeast and Refinery29.

As an Account Manager, you are the engine of your accounts. You are a self-starter who can manage the day-to-day for high-growth startups and established brands independently, while partnering with senior leadership to scale strategy for our larger global clients. The Role:

  • Integrated Consumer Strategy: Execute 360-degree communications strategies that bridge traditional tech reviews, lifestyle feature stories, and creator-led social content.

  • Media Impact: Leverage your growing network of tech, business, and lifestyle media contacts to secure needle-moving coverage. You know how to translate hardware specs into human stories that land in both trades and consumer outlets.

  • Creator & Brand Integration: Identify and manage opportunities for influencers and brand partners to participate in client projects. You understand how to brief talent to ensure their content feels authentic while hitting client KPIs.

  • Creative Pitching: Rethink traditional tech PR. You’ll be expected to brainstorm and execute "out-of-the-box" pitch angles that prove our value as experts in the ever-evolving attention economy.

  • Content Excellence: Craft sharp, persuasive materials—from press releases and product launch kits to social-first pitches and executive briefing notes.

  • The Nuanced Leader: You possess exceptional situational awareness. You have the executive presence to command a meeting, but the humility and judgment to take a step back and support your team or client when necessary.

  • Mentorship & Growth: Proactively mentor and teach junior team members ) the inner workings of tech PR. We believe in building careers, and your leadership is vital to our team’s success.

Who You Are:

  • The Tech-Lifestyle Hybrid: 5–6 years of experience in PR/Communications, with a specific focus on consumer hardware, apps and gaming. You have a genuine opinion on why certain products go viral.

  • An Integrated Thinker: You’re plugged into real-time conversation on platforms like X and quick to connect the dots between what’s trending and what it means for a client’s business.

  • A Proven Lead: At least 1 year of experience managing client teams with direct oversight. You are ready to project-manage complex accounts and deliver high-quality results.

  • The Generalist Mindset: You are curious by nature and eager to work on a variety of clients across different verticals..

  • An Exceptional Communicator: You are a fast, persuasive writer and a verbal communicator who can build deep trust with clients and media alike.

  • Highly Organized & Scrappy: You excel at managing the backend of accounts—from results reporting and budget trackers to complex launch timelines—with total precision.

  • Flexible: Willing to work evenings/weekends and travel, when necessary, to bring our clients’ biggest moments to life.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
