CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, or New York, NY.***

We are looking for an Account Manager to manage our insurance client’s sports sponsorship portfolio, through management of assets and communication with teams/properties, clients, and agency partners. The responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison with our clients’ sponsorship contacts to fulfill assets and support program development and activation across multiple groups in support of local and national campaigns.

The ideal candidate should have a strong client management background and display the following characteristics: highly organized and detail-oriented, the ability to consistently meet strict timelines, strong written and verbal communication skills, previous experience in developing tactical recommendations and strong working knowledge of the sports sponsorship industry. The Account Manager will report to the Account Director and work closely with another Account Manager with shared responsibility to maintain the relationships with our clients’ primary teams, agencies, and local market contacts.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Primary point of contact for client’s Sports Marketing team
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of client business objectives and marketing campaigns to provide strong recommendations on use of sponsorships to achieve marketing goals
  • Serve as subject matter expert on client’s sponsorship portfolio (specifically focusing on Baseball)  including terms, assets, financials, and property processes, procedures and structure
  • Implement client’s sponsorship portfolio, including branded and custom content coordination, media strategy & execution, and continuous portfolio evaluation
  • Ensure contractual compliance and fulfillment of sponsorship assets, and manage the day-to-day logistics of executing various property elements
  • Assist in the design, preparation and presentation of strategic recommendations to leverage partnerships toward client business objectives
  • Lead weekly status calls and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents
  • Lead and maintain existing management routines (i.e. property meetings, agendas, asset trackers/database, notes, etc.) to fulfill and track assets
  • Ensure various agency partners are aligned and advised on timelines, as well as keep projects moving alongside target timelines and budgets
  • Assess and evaluate existing, new and proposed sponsorship agreements and assets
  • Additional projects as assigned, which may include: sponsorship evaluations, competitive reviews, POVs, white papers, property research, etc.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 5 years of proven client service experience including executing sports/entertainment sponsorships, evaluating proposals, and facilitating contractual assets
  • Team sports or property experiences strongly preferred – interest in baseball, a requirement
  • Asset management experience
  • Passionate to make an account contribution with new partnerships and projects
  • Proven success in building positive client relationships
  • Strong communication, writing, and client service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)

The base range for this position is $60,000 – 65,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background pertinent experience, and qualifications.
