Who We Are

Pattern Data is an AI-powered platform built for the complexities of mass tort litigation. We help leading law firms automate case analysis, accelerate settlement decisions, and manage high-volume inventories that were traditionally manual and time-intensive.

The problems we work on are complex and high-stakes, requiring precision, adaptability, and a deep understanding of both data and client needs.

We’re a collaborative, high-ownership team that moves quickly and takes pride in solving hard problems well. People at Pattern go deep to understand the “why,” build solutions that hold up, and stay focused on what drives real outcomes for our customers. We value transparency, thoughtful problem-solving, and authenticity in how we work together and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to contribute to a team that’s actively building and improving every day.

What You’ll Do

As an Account Executive at Pattern Data, you will own the full sales cycle – from prospecting to close – with law firms of varying sizes, focusing on building sustainable, high-value client relationships. You’ll be responsible for developing a healthy pipeline, leading consultative sales conversations, and delivering tailored solutions that help firms scale their operations through Pattern’s technology.

  • Target new prospects and manage your own book of business, focusing on both mid-market and enterprise mass tort law firms.
  • Prospect, qualify, and lead discovery calls and demos to uncover client needs and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Strategize and implement creative approaches when faced with client challenges that defy easy fixes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and industry partners to support revenue goals.
  • Create account plans to maximize opportunities within existing and prospective clients, ensuring a recurring and sustainable book of business.
  • Structure and manage negotiations to successfully close deals and build long-term client partnerships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Client Success, and Engineering to advocate for client needs, shape feature development, and deliver customized solutions that maximize product adoption and value.
  • Represent Pattern at industry conferences, client meetings, and networking events to strengthen market presence and generate new opportunities.
  • Travel up to 30% for client meetings, on-site visits, and industry events.
  • Effectively manage time, prioritize competing objectives, and consistently exceed goals in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • 3-6 years of quota-carrying software or technology sales and account management experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding annual quotas and closing deals with large ACVs (e.g., $50,000-$200,000 in size).
  • Experience in outbound sales and pipeline generation, with a demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle consultative sales.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all decision-making levels.
  • Comfort navigating complex client environments with multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • CRM proficiency (HubSpot preferred) and strong operational discipline in managing pipeline and forecasting.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to turn client challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Previous experience selling into the legal industry or adjacent verticals is a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
