Job Description

AE, Product Sales

Nielsen is looking for an Account Executive to focus on a roster of Nielsen's Advertiser, Agency, Digital, and TV media clients. This role is focused on driving new business growth and expanding sales of Nielsen's audience measurement services through direct client engagement, working closely with account management and product to demonstrate Nielsen's value to help the client base. In this role, the AE will report to the Manager, Product Sales and will play a critical role in supporting the US sales efforts for Ad Intel. You will align your sales activities with company objectives and product understanding to deliver sustainable business growth.

Goals:

  • Execute against the sales strategy developed by the Sales Manager and VP Sales across all our prospects and clients in the US that align with Nielsen business objectives. 

  • Contribute to a results-driven culture that emphasizes accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor individual sales performance metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

  • Deliver against New Business sales targets and contribute to their achievement through effective planning and execution.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry needs to identify opportunities and proactively address threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving Growth: Actively prospect and acquire new clients to meet and exceed individual annual quotas and targets. Identify and capitalize on upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing client base.

  • Sales Process Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from initial prospecting and lead qualification to negotiating and closing contracts.

  • Strategic Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders through both virtual and in-person meetings. Represent the company at industry and client events as needed.

  • Product Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in direct client pitches. Clearly communicate the product's benefits and how they address key client needs.

  • Account and Territory Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for your assigned territory and client roster. Work closely with the Account Management team and other leads to identify top product opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with operations, enablement, marketing, and product teams to ensure a unified approach that drives customer satisfaction.

  • Sales Strategy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of client-specific sales strategies, working closely with the sales team to support client relationships and drive key initiatives.

  • Training & Enablement: Proactively identify gaps in your own product knowledge and create a personal training plan to address those needs. Share best practices and provide product expertise to colleagues in direct client pitches as a team resource.

  • CRM Management: Maintain a detailed and accurate sales pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity for effective sales reporting and forecasting.

  • Meeting Preparation: Prepare for and lead regular internal and external meetings, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), to showcase value and plan for future growth.

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in new business sales, Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Understanding of the media and advertising industry (brand marketers, television, digital, social, retail media, advertising agencies) including current state and future trends

  • Attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines and respond to clients in a timely manner

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and work well with a diverse customer base and various internal teams.

  • Motivated to prospect, drive sales and new business opportunities

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Strong team player - this is a sales role that will adapt with the team over time 

  • Travel required for in person meetings with clients and teams
