We are looking for an Account Executive to join our Entertainment Advertising Team to help bring entertainment to Discord. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about entertainment, the entertainment industry, and helping entertainment brands connect with their most engaged audiences. This is a role where you will be working to grow our entertainment advertising business focused on movies, shows, and categories that align with Discord's platform and audience. 

You will harness your prior experience in entertainment advertising/media/marketing spaces and bring a combination of strategic business thinking, industry relationships, product insights, and an ability to build a significant, recurring book of business with clients.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be the primary day-to-day contact with entertainment advertising partners, responsible for identifying client's marketing needs and breaking new lines of business
  • You will develop solutions/proposals for your clients that deliver value against those needs, lead pitching and presentation preparation, creating customized decks based on client's movies/shows
  • In order to hit revenue targets, you will be:
    • Prospecting and sourcing new marketing opportunities with entertainment studios, streaming platforms, and their media agencies
    • Building & deepening relationships with key entertainment brands and their media agencies
    • Negotiating & closing opportunities
    • Helping clients achieve business and marketing goals via Discord's solutions
  • You will deploy and execute effective and repeatable sales motions. You will apply an account planning process to prioritize accounts, grow revenue, educate clients, lead strategic client conversations, and navigate complex relationships
  • You will create and convey compelling sales presentations and proposals utilizing internal and external data, become an expert in Discord solutions and adapt recommendations to suit varying entertainment client needs, and consult with clients to advise them on their strategic marketing and media plans and how Discord's entertainment-specific solutions contribute to their plans
  • You will demonstrate expertise around entertainment marketing, media trends, audience engagement, and advertising opportunities within Discord
  • You will submit weekly revenue narratives, and collaborate with Account Managers who will own campaign execution

What you should have:

  • 6+ years of direct revenue driving experience in media buying, brand marketing, digital advertising, and ad sales with media and entertainment clients
  • Strong knowledge of current and upcoming entertainment releases and industry trends
  • Experience in building relationships with top marketing decision-makers at entertainment companies and their agencies
  • Ability to analyze data and identify insights to assess campaign performance
  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve quickly and through the proper escalation channels, along with exceptional customer service focus and proactive communication skills
  • Experience with marketing and ad technology ecosystem including ability to collect and convey product needs as well as working cross-functionally to diagnose and solve technical problems for clients
  • Experience in negotiating and structuring standard and non-standard ad-buying agreements
  • Expected to travel 20–30% of the time for regional in-person client meetings and events.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners including Revenue Operations, Product Marketing, Product Team, Data Science, and Global Partnerships

The total annual target compensation range for this full-time position is $272k - $360k OTE + equity + benefits. Our compensation ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the OTE (base salary + target variable compensation) only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
