Overview

UserGems' Account Development Reps are the front line of our outbound engine.
You'll pick up the phone, work LinkedIn, and turn cold prospects into booked demos for our sales team. You'll report to the Account Development Manager who rolls up to the CMO.
This is entry-level with a real growth path.

As an ADR

  • You'll own top-of-funnel outbound: hit the phones with confidence, run cold discovery like a consultant, social sell creatively, and test new channels before anyone tells you to
  • You'll work hand in glove with demand gen on target accounts every month, and you own the hand-off to the AE team so nothing gets dropped
  • You'll work every channel, call, LinkedIn, email, whatever else works, to book meetings
  • You'll follow up on demo requests like someone owes you money
  • You'll test, tweak, and get creative until your outreach breaks through the noise. The job isn't hitting a daily dial count. It's using everything you've got, phone, LinkedIn, email, the product itself, and your strategic creativity to make quota happen.
  • You'll occasionally travel: this role is fully remote day to day, but annual conferences and company events are part of the job.
  • You'll become a product expert fast, because you'll actually prospect with UserGems. Not many ADR roles can say they use their own product to do their job

How you'll ramp

Week 1

  • You'll get hands-on with our product, sales process, and tools
  • You'll listen to real Gong calls to hear how prospects object and how we handle it
  • You'll meet the whole team, one on one

Day 30

  • You're almost ramped. Product, pains we solve, value propositions, persona, and discovery have a good foundation.
  • You can influence a prospect in a consultative way via cold call
  • You're booking meetings on your own

Day 60

  • You're running a full list of target accounts efficiently
  • You've got personalization at scale down, and somehow you still sound like a human (a funny one) doing it
  • You’re experimenting and expanding your impact beyond cold calling channel
  • Competitors & common objections: all becoming second nature

Day 90

  • You're a real part of the revenue team, not someone still finding their footing
  • You're partnering with marketing on campaigns that move pipeline and starting to experiment with your own book of business while still following the roadmap our campaigns lay out
  • You’re getting more in-depth with learning the ins and outs of our own tool

What makes you a fit

  • 6+ months in a quota-carrying, customer-facing role, consistently exceeding goals and key metrics
  • You're not afraid of the phone. You've either done the early-stage prospecting grind or can make a clear case for why you'd excel at it.

Bonus: you’ve cold called into sales, marketing, or revops and:

  • You share new ideas, take feedback without flinching, and bring a good attitude on the hard days
  • Self-starter energy: entrepreneurial, motivated, and relentless about getting to the outcome - no hand-holding required
  • You geek out on AI — using it to work smarter or think more creatively
  • You want a fully remote work environment, but you're up for travel to annual conferences and company events

Compensation

Target compensation for the role is $80,000 OTE annually ($60,000 annual base + $20,000 annual variable) with real opportunity for promotion within the first year.

Why you should join:

  • You’ll be part of a fast-growing startup as it scales from 70 to hundreds of employees
  • Customers love us! (see our Customers & Hall of Gems pages)
  • Employees love working here (see Repvue & Glassdoor reviews) and stay a long time. Median tenure for Director+ is 5 years and median tenure for all employees is 3+ years.
  • We just had our best quarter ever (by >2X) and signed our first 7 digit contract.
  • We will be cash-flow positive by the end of the year and can create our own destiny.
  • We're a remote-first company with employees across the Americas and Europe
  • We have company & department-wide in-person off-sites around the world so that everyone stays connected
  • We believe strongly in being customer-focused and data-driven in everything we do
  • We value individual differences in the workforce and strive to make everyone feel welcomed and accepted, regardless of their skin color, gender or sexual orientation
  • Health benefits & competitive salary

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
