PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $18 - $25/hr hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

PLEASE NOTE  

As a BECU Intern, you will not be eligible for any benefit plans or arrangements that are generally available to BECU employees, except for paid time off (PTO).  You will accrue 12 hours over the summer which you may use or be paid out at the end of your intern assignment if unused.  

LOCATION 

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, AZ, or TX. If you’re located within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.  For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE

As a Software Developer Engineer in Test Intern at BECU, you will support the development and quality of enterprise software by contributing to automated testing solutions. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in testing frameworks, automation, and quality engineering practices. Your contributions will help ensure reliable, high-quality software while building a strong foundation in modern testing and development practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Collaborate with Your Team: Work with quality engineers, developers, and analysts to support testing efforts and improve software quality.
  • Support Test Automation: Assist in developing and enhancing automated tests for applications and systems.
  • Contribute to Testing Solutions: Support efforts to improve and evolve testing frameworks and automation processes.
  • Write and Validate Code: Participate in coding, testing, debugging, and documentation activities related to quality engineering.
  • Follow Development Standards: Apply departmental procedures, programming standards, and best practices throughout your work.
  • Support Quality Engineering Practices: Assist in ensuring software meets quality, performance, and reliability expectations.
  • Participate in Continuous Integration Processes: Contribute to testing activities within build and deployment pipelines.
  • Learn and Apply Testing Concepts: Build foundational knowledge in software testing, automation, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Support Team Success: Contribute to team goals and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or has graduated from one of these programs within the past twelve months.
  • Foundational knowledge or exposure to software development, testing concepts, or programming languages.
