Provides case management for patients in behavioral healthcare and substance use disorder programs. Responsibilities include treatment planning, outreach, referrals, vocational counseling, discharge planning, coordination with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, and comprehensive medical-record documentation. The role also supports patients with housing, employment, legal, financial, medical, psychiatric, and aftercare needs.

Provides psychiatric evaluations, medication consultations, discharge summaries, utilization reviews, staff consultation and training, on-call coverage, and participation in medical staff meetings and peer review. The psychiatrist also maintains a monthly work schedule and completes credentialing and privileging requirements. The role serves patients receiving behavioral healthcare and chemical dependency services.

Supervises 6–12 staff and oversees daily behavioral healthcare program operations, patient activities, documentation compliance, chart audits, reporting, utilization review, revenue cycle processes, reimbursement programs, and staff scheduling and evaluations. Develops revenue cycle procedures, manages projects, presents audit findings and metrics, participates in committees, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, confidentiality requirements, JCAHO standards, and applicable regulations.
