PIGLT

Piglt (pronounced ‘piglet’) is a crowdfunding platform for higher education expenses and private student loan debt. At Piglt, people in need of funding, or “Dreamers,” engage the community to help pay for their higher education expenses or existing education debt, in return for goods, services or other incentives. The funders, or “Believers”, support individual Dreamer-campaigns for a variety of reasons: because they are inspired by the Dreamer’s campaign, because they share alumni, friends or family, or simply because they share a common goal. When a campaign reaches its pre-designated funding goal, Piglt sends the money raised directly to the Dreamer's school or loan originator. This way, the Believer knows the funds are being used for the right purpose.

Piglt creates an instant network between Dreamer and Believer that facilitates future mentorship and professional opportunities, further increasing the Dreamer’s ability to afford his or her higher education. And “higher education” at Piglt encompasses more than just the traditional PhDs, MBAs or JDs. Piglt is available to Dreamers who aspire to or have already finished any type of post-high school education. Piglt can be used by the qualified mechanic or graphic designer just out of vocational school, the trained artist or chef, or the certified yoga or pilates instructor.
