National Democratic Institute for International Affairs

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to strengthening democracy worldwide. Working with local partners in more than 150 countries—including community groups, political parties, parliaments and governments—it empowers people to participate in governance, helps political institutions become more responsive and accountable, supports free and fair elections, and strengthens democratic societies against forces that undermine freedom.
