Lead accounting operations for a specialty construction company, overseeing financial reporting, monthly close, job costing, WIP reporting, project profitability, inventory accounting, labor burden rates, and internal controls. Partner with project and operational leaders to improve financial performance, support bidding and pricing, implement accounting systems, and supervise an Accounting Manager. Collaborate with the Fractional CFO on analysis, reporting, and ESOP-related accounting.

The Accounting Specialist manages full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, three-way matching, check runs, customer billing, cash applications, reconciliations, credits, refunds, and account adjustments. The role maintains accurate financial records, resolves vendor and customer discrepancies, supports credit reviews, and collaborates with Purchasing, Receiving, customers, vendors, and internal teams. It reports to the Controller and contributes to improving processes within a newly structured accounting function.

Processes and reconciles high-volume accounts payable transactions, including invoices, credit cards, expenses, payments, vendor records, and discrepancies. Supports month-end close, audits, and accounting projects while cross-training in accounts receivable, billing, cash receipts, and collections. Collaborates with vendors and internal departments and maintains accurate, organized records.
