Teams at Federal Public Defender

Provide executive-level secretarial and clerical support to Capital Habeas attorneys: e-filing, drafting and editing pleadings, managing calendars and case files, screening calls, processing mail, and supporting multiple attorneys including overflow coverage. In-office role requiring occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work and a background investigation.

Represent indigent state prisoners and detained immigrants in federal habeas matters; communicate with clients; summarize trial transcripts; conduct research and investigations; work with experts; draft petitions, motions, and briefs; conduct evidentiary hearings and appellate arguments; occasionally assist on federal criminal trials and capital habeas cases.
