Provides clerical and administrative support for a hospice business office. Responsibilities include managing correspondence, calls, records, physician orders, manuals, and patient files; entering patient and billing data; processing Medicare, Medicaid, private payer, and patient claims; preparing billing and accounts receivable reports; maintaining supply inventory; and protecting confidential information. Requires healthcare data-entry experience, strong computer and word-processing skills, typing proficiency, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Coordinates hospice referrals and admissions while serving as a liaison among patients, families, facilities, physicians, hospitals, payers, and community sources. Conducts social work assessments, provides hospice education, supports care planning and consent processes, participates in interdisciplinary and bereavement activities, assists with education programs, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
