Designs optical, mechanical, and opto-mechanical components and assemblies for airborne and space applications. Develops 3D models, drawings, bills of materials, tooling, assembly and test procedures, and manufacturable product concepts. Supports proposals, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, configuration control, and technical improvements while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and program management.

Coordinates procurement, shipping, export documentation, inventory tracking, vendor communications, and trade show logistics. Creates purchase orders, verifies deliveries, manages shipment records, supports packaging and cycle counts, and assists with office and operational tasks. The role requires occasional lifting and collaboration with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Leads the opto-mechanical design engineering department, managing, mentoring, and developing engineers. Oversees design projects, workload allocation, technical specifications, quality processes, documentation, manufacturability, and customer requirements. Provides hands-on opto-mechanical design and structural analysis support, contributes to proposals and business development, and coordinates interdisciplinary projects. Responsibilities include hiring, performance management, process improvement, technical planning, audits, and maintaining compliance with engineering standards and the quality management system.
