Why do we let Texas have Federal anything?

A Federal Judge in Texas struck down an executive order of the Obama Administration that would have extended overtime protection to laborers making just less than fifty thousand dollars a year.

It can be easy to forget what it's like in the rest of the country being shielded from the inanity of what passes for labor law there since we live in the Great State of California where the laws make sense for the most part and it's not so heavily tilted in favor of corporations over people.  So in light of the holiday yesterday, perhaps let's take a moment to meditate on the economics of our industry, our state, and our country and be thankful for the opportunities we've been afforded for being here.  Maybe Marx might not have been so unreasonable to suggest that a sixty hour work week be strictly enforced.

With that said,  I'm off to do some unremunerated work for my corporation where I get to be both labor and capital.  Here's to entrepreneurship!
