Bitfusion closes $5M Series A
Bitfusion, the developer of AI infrastructure solutions, announced on Tuesday the closing of a $5 million round of funding. The Series A included investments from Vanedge Capital, Sierra Ventures, Data Collective, Resonant VC, Emergent Ventures, INSEAD Angels and Geekdom. On the same day, the company also launched beta availability of its software for managing elastic AI infrastructure called Bitfusion Flex. [Press Release]
Icnonixx software adds $4.2M
Austin-based Iconixx closed a $4.2 million funding round this week, led by existing investors Ballast Point Ventures, Harbert Growth Partners, S3 Ventures, and the Iconixx management team. The company creates software that automates commission and compensation management for sales teams. To date, Iconixx has raised $24 million in funding. They plan to use the latest round of capital for product advancements and growing their sales team. [Press Release]
EverlyWell nabs $2M funding round to expand suite of tests
EverlyWell, a startup providing at-home diagnostic health tests, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $2 million. Investors include NextGen Venture Partners, SoGal Ventures and Full Tilt Capital. The company plans to use the funding for expanding its selection of available tests, make new key hires, add partnerships and further enhance the product features. [MedCity News]
Dropoff expands to three new cities
Dropoff, an Austin-based startup that offers same-day courier delivery services, announced on Thursday that it has expanded its services to San Diego, Fort Worth and Nashville. Following February’s expansion into Denver and Phoenix, Dropoff now supports 15 cities nationwide. The company will continue to go live in additional cities through the remainder of the year. Austin ranks as a top city for job seekers
Indeed analyzed data from 50 metro areas that advertise job openings on their site to determine which cities rank best for job seekers. They used data points that included average salary, work-life balance, job security and growth opportunities to determine how favorable the local labor market is to the job seeker. Data scientists then took the data and assigned each city a calculated, single Indeed City Score. Indeed ranked Austin as the fourth best city. [Indeed]
Central Texas EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalists include 9 from Austin tech
The 2017 list of finalists for Central Texas EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards has been announced. The awards honor top entrepreneurs from Austin and San Antonio. This year's list includes 26 individuals spanning 21 companies from various industries. Of the 26 finalists, nine hail from Austin tech, including Greg Stock of Zenoss; Heather Brunner and Jason Cohen of WP Engine; Charles Thornburgh of Civitas Learning; Bjorn Reynolds of SafeGuard World International; Don Elledge of Edgile; Darin Brannan of ClearDATA; Joe Ross of CSID; and Jeff Eastman of Alchemy Systems.
