After deploying more than 800 ISS Above devices around the world, the ISS Above HD+ incorporates improvements based on user feedback, and improves the performance of its predecessor including an exciting new set of features:
  • Live HD Video from the cameras onboard the ISS
  • Detailed information about the current ISS crew members
  • Support for additional display devices such as RGB LED strips and rings
  • Wireless control via Bluetooth LE of a Wearable Add-on for tracking the ISS on the go!
  • Compatibility with the latest models of Raspberry Pi (A+/B+/2)

Continuing with his innovative development initiative, ISS-Above’s creator Liam Kennedy has revamped the world’s only hardware-based solution for indicating visible, overhead passes of the ISS in a bright and colorful way. One of the project supporters, Bill Nye, The Science Guy, had this to say about the device in a recent interview for the Wall Street Journal:

"My most recent obsession is: this gizmo called ISSAbove that tells you when the international space station [ISS] is overhead. It’s linked to the cameras aboard the ISS, so you can run an HDMI cable to your television and see the earth from space. I do it all day. I leave it on more than is reasonable. It’s just a beautiful thing."
