Built In LA's first event of 2018 is this Thursday evening in Culver City at Rush Street on Washington Boulevard. A number of LA's hottest tech companies — all of which are hiring — will be on-hand for what is quickly becoming the premier tech networking event in LA. A Bit of Coin — Inaugural Event, Tuesday, January 30 at 6 p.m.
The volatility of the cryptocurrency industry can be confusing, but it's quite clear that cryptocurrency is hardly just a fad. This week, join the Build.Tech.LA members for the inaugural A Bit of Coin event at the OPODZ in Little Tokyo. The event discussion will include just why cryptocurrencies have fallen every day this year, the growth of cryptos over the past year and what experts expect from the next few months.
Hollywood Tech Networking @ WeWork Vine!, Tuesday, January 30 at 6 p.m.
LA Tech Happy Hour comes to the WeWork in Hollywood this week for a night of networking, startup demos and a few cocktails. Admission is free and if you take the Metro, the venue is just a short walk from the Hollywood/Vine exit. Just beware of the actors on Hollywood Boulevard. They can be vicious.
Sofar Sounds x GA Present: Tech and...Music Panel + Concert, Thursday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m.
If you're as big a fan of music and tech as I am, you'll want to check out this week's TECH AND... event, presented by Sofar Sounds and General Assembly. The BYOB event will feature a musical theme, with experts discussing the music tech landscape in 2018 and, of course, some live music.
Coro & NationBuilder Present: Technology x Democracy, Friday, February 2 at 8 a.m.
With each passing day, the current political landscape continues to devolve into a confounding mix resembling something akin to a satirical film. But as more and more people begin to voice their concern, it's clear that tech is the vehicle citizens can use to shout their displeasure. Featuring a number of political and startup luminaries, this event will take a look at how tech will interact with democracy moving forward.
First Fridays @ UCLA TDG - How to Attract, Retain & Engage Your Workforce, Friday, February 2 at 9:00 a.m.
