Activity Club App for iOs and Android

If you are one of the 67 million Americans who tracks their fitness then you’ve likely had a friend or colleague who also tracks their fitness but is using different hardware or a different fitness app than you.  Activity Club aims to fill the void as the neutral platform for digital health wearables.  To date they import health data from Fitbit, Jawbone, Apple Watch, Strava, Runkeeper, Health Kit, Google Fit, Samsung S-Health, and are adding more every day.

“Digital health and wearable tech is one of the fastest growing industries in technology and Activity Club is the digital playground for those who wear them.” - Scott Rushforth, Founder

Activity Club App is not just another health social network, in fact they’d rather not call it a social network at all.  In a world saturated with social media, nobody wants to join another social network.  People’s time is too precious, and those who are looking to get fit and be healthy want to spend even less time social networking.

That’s why the founders of Activity Club wanted to simplify the application and let the data speak for itself.  The only status update you’ll see in Activity Club is your activity being synced as points, be it daily steps, a run, surfing, or a Vinyasa Yoga class.  This makes it possible for the cycling enthusiast to compete and interact with their partner, who may be a gym rat or a long distance runner.

Another form of interaction, and a clever gamification of the app, is the ‘Hi-five’ function, which allows the user to congratulate their friend.  All these functions take mere seconds to view and interact with, so the user spends less time on their mobile device, and more time being active.

“I love the gamification aspect of fitness wearables. When I go for a walk I feel like I’m leveling up” - Tanguy deCourson, Founder

About the Company

The founders of Activity Club, Scott Rushforth and Tanguy deCourson, are a pair of software developers with a passion for health data, but they didn’t start out that way.

Due to long hours spent coding and being sedentary, like many in the tech industry, they started to lose track of their health, gain weight, and the myriad of issues that come with an inactive lifestyle.  One day, in Fall of 2013, they decided to get fitness trackers, but they chose different hardware, and realized there was no way they could track each other’s progress or compete with each other.

They built the first version of Activity Club, and they lost a combined weight of 120 pounds, and thus Activity Club was born (but not before many revisions and a complete rebranding of the name and user interface).  The community started growing organically as their friends and family and colleagues joined, but it was Samsung’s recent partnership with Activity Club that really pushed their growth into overdrive.  They are one of the early adopters of S-Health, as well as the only app in iTunes to support data from Google Fit.

They’re celebrating by having a launch party in Silicon Beach Capitol, Venice Beach.  Their event is public but tickets are going fast.  If you’d like an invite, contact them on Twitter @activityclubapp and download their app for free at https://activity.club.  For your health.
