John Langford Speaks at eHarmony, November 5 at 12 p.m.

John Langford, author of Vowpal Wabbit, is having a last-minute speaking session at eHarmony. Vowpal Wabbit developed two approaches to solving machine learning problems which have an internal API that you can program against learning reductions and learning to search. He will discuss the APIs for both of these as well as various applications.
 

Find Your Match: A Look at Founder/Co-Founder Relationships, November 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Software Craftsmanship North America 2015 Conference, November 6 at 8 a.m.

SCNA 2015 is spreading software craftsmanship to Los Angeles! The day is full of keynote presentations by influential figures in the software craftsmanship movement: Robert "Uncle Bob" Martin, Iris Classon, Enrique Comba Riepenhausen, and more. SCNA is a conference for software professionals interested in improving their craft, their community, and themselves.
 

SoCal Maker Convention 2015, November 7 at 9 a.m.

The driving force and motivation behind this event is the emerging Maker Movement; a movement of amateurs, hobbyists, entrepreneurs, DIYers, students, and professionals united by nothing but the common desire to tinker, design, hack, innovate and invent. Since the inaugural event last year, the SoCal Maker Convention has grown rapidly! They've moved into a larger building and added attractions like drone racing and cosplay photo walls.
