ZipRecruiter opens new HQ in Santa Monica

After eight years of steady growth, ZipRecruiter has a new home. Founded in LA in 2010, the company announced the opening of a 45,000-square-foot office in Santa Monica that will be home to 400 of the company's nearly 1,000 employees. Additionally, the company relocated its teams in Arizona and Israel to larger locations to facilitate growth in those markets. [Press Release]

Cargo launches in LA with Snapchat, SnackNation collaboration

Rideshare commerce platform Cargo said Wednesday that its West Coast debut includes a collaboration with Snapchat and SnackNation. Cargo riders will be able to order retail products and snacks curated by SnackNation through the Snapchat app. While Cargo is new to LA, the service is already available in cities like New York, Chicago and Boston.

“As we enter each new city, our mission is to tailor the Cargo experience and product selection to our riders’ preferences. Snap is the ultimate LA success story,” Cargo CEO Jeff Cripe said in recent statement. [Press release]

Phyn has made a new addition to its executive team. The company, which develops a product to react to potentially catastrophic water leaks, said it has named Mariel Devesa as global head of business development. Online fundraising platform Omaze announced that it has recently reached $100 million in funding. Omaze connects celebrities and brands to raise awareness and funds for charities. Quake Capital brings an accelerator program to LA

Accelerator program Quake Capital said it will launch a 12-week program in LA. Quake Capital makes seed-level investments in new and early-stage companies. The LA cohort is its fourth one yet, and will consist of 16 companies, with companies hailing from a host of industries, including media, design, hospitality, healthcare and marketing.
