Nonprofits in Latino Communities Bridging the Technology Divide, Tuesday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m.

It's easy to look at the technology divide as a concept that only affects emerging countries, but it's also something that is a problem in communities in the inner cities here in the U.S. Join a number of nonprofits this week to address the role of technology as a tool to empower LA's vibrant Hispanic community. 

 

DTLA Community Hack Night at Nordstrom Rack/HauteLookTuesday, February 13 at 7 p.m.

Interested in hanging out with some like-minded tech individuals, grabbing some grub and do a little hacking? Head down to the HauteLook headquarters in the heart of DTLA for their monthly hackathon for a chance to learn new skills, plan new projects and win a gift card in a coding challenge.

 

Stage Venture Partners and Central City Association Technology Summit, Thursday, February 15 at 7:30 a.m.

This week, The Central City Association (CCA) and Stage Venture Partners are holding their inaugural Technology Summit right in the middle of DTLA. CCA is dedicated to empowering downtown Los Angeles by promoting the tech companies that call it home, creating a community where employees can both live and work in harmony. 

 

Females in Fashion and Technology, Thursday, February 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Girls in Tech Los Angeles is partnering with TechStyle Fashion Group, home to Fabletics, JustFab, ShoeDazzle and FabKids for this event. Get a behind-the-scenes view of not only the technology these companies are leveraging but the people behind these successful Silicon Beach-based brands. The event kicks off with drinks and snacks, then features a panel of female executives sharing their experience, as well as their predictions for the future of fashion, e-commerce, subscription-based business models and digital marketing. Hustle While You Work with Initialized & Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian, Thursday, February 15 at 7 p.m.
