We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join Team Spectacles! You’ll play a key role in managing the overall activities of inventory accounting, including cost analysis and process improvements. Working from our Venice, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with a team of financial professionals and business partners from throughout the company to support Snap Inc!
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with the Finance, Supply Chain, and Business Operations teams to ensure accurate GAAP reporting of inventory
- Assist in monthly close process and preparing reconciliations and journal entries as needed for inventory and other areas as assigned
- Ensure all cash accounts are reconciled in a timely manner including preparing and/or reviewing reconciliations
- Prepare flux and variance explanations as part of the monthly close process for inventory accounts and other areas assigned
- Optimize processes and procedures for scalability
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audit and periodic internal audits
- Play a key role in general process improvements
- Process documentation for all facets relating to inventory accounting
- Manage and respond to inquiries related to inventory
- Create reports to help support and improve the Functional Accounting team
- Support other ad hoc analyses and projects, as needed
Who we’re looking for:
- 1+ years of accounting experience
- Big 4 and/or private or startup company experience (both preferred)
- BA/BS in Accounting and CPA preferred
- Exceptional accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLookUp, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure in a periodically deadline-driven environment
- A practised multitasker with excellent critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
- Someone with a proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to think creatively and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- A strong work ethic and exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with Netsuite preferred
