Senior Accountant, Compensation

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join Snap Inc! We’re looking for a pro-active, self-directed person who can manage the overall activities of compensation expense, including variance analysis and process improvement. Working from our Venice, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with a team of finance professionals and business partners throughout the company.
What you’ll do:
- Work alongside colleagues in the Finance, Accounting, Equity, and HR team(s) to ensure accurate GAAP reporting of compensation expense
- Prepare monthly JE’s for all payroll related transactions
- Manage the monthly reconciliations of all compensation related accounts
- Prepare flux and variance explanations as part of the monthly close process for compensation accounts, along with other areas as assigned
- Manage and respond to inquiries related to financial compensation data
- Account for stock-based compensation and transactions
- Optimize processes and procedures for scalability
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audit and periodic internal audits
- Responsible for maintaining the Payroll & Equity narratives up to date
- Play a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets related to compensation accounting
- Create reports to support or improve the operational excellence of the Payroll team
- Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
What we’re looking for:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting experience with an emphasis on payroll, stock based compensation, and commissions
- Exceptional analytical skills and strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookUp, etc.)
- Strong accounting knowledge with an understanding in US GAAP
- Ability to work under pressure — often in a deadline driven environment — and the ability to perform several tasks concurrently
- Someone who possesses excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- A detail-oriented individual who has exceptional organizational skills
- A strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods
- Experience with Workday/Cloudpay/Netsuite preferred
