Senior Accountant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete Month-end close activities in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare journal entries and other accounting transactions, maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, and ensure that financial statements are GAAP compliant
- Accruals
- Accounting for Inventory
- Product Costing, including markup and gross profit analysis
- Assist with ERP implementation (GL, WMS).
- Accounting liaison with Operations department and warehouse.
- Experienced with best practices for inventory tracking and management.
- Manage inventory observations and cycle counts on a reoccurring basis.
- Prepare bill of material and costing reports.
- Review Invoices for Freight and Inventory.
- Variance analysis, such as for changes in precut cost, raw materials, margins, trends, etc.
- Collaborate with other departments and information required for accounting analysis.
- Prepare deliverables to support the preparation of the financial statements, and/or requests for information from all business functions
- Assist supporting quarterly reviews, annual audit, tax return preparation.Identify opportunities to improve processes and minimize inefficiencies
- Sales Tax Reporting
- Property Tax Returns
- Assistance with supervising Accounts Payable
- Ad hoc analysis on an as needed basis
- Account Reconciliations and Variance Analysis.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Highly analytical and strategic.
- Ambitious and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree (accounting, business, or finance major preferred)
- CPA license.4-5 years of accounting experience
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, general accounting processes and internal controls, and financial analysis tools and techniques
- Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, V/H Lookups, etc.)
- Experience with top tier ERP and related reporting applications
- Prior Direct Response industry experience
- Private - Public company experience mix at a Big 4 firm or national firm
- Active CPA license.
