Workplace Operations Specialist

This position is San Francisco-based only. We are seeking candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties), or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Discord's Workplace team is searching for a data-driven Workplace Operations Specialist, Analytics to join us in our mission to provide a delightful, safe, comfortable, and inclusive office environment and experience for Discord employees and visitors at our San Francisco HQ! This role will lead the analytics transformation of how we understand and optimize our physical workspace and office experience through advanced data collection, analysis, and actionable insights.

What you'll be doing:

• Owning Discord's workplace analytics strategy - implementing and maintaining workplace analytics tools and data, including: occupancy sensors, badge access data, and space utilization programs
• Building comprehensive dashboards and reports utilizing workplace metrics to drive strategic workplace decisions
• Defining and implementing methods and KPIs for analysing employee engagement with statistical rigor
• Creating engaging, company-wide communications that transform workplace data into fun, relatable stories (think: "We recycled enough cans this quarter to circle the Earth's equator!")
• Crafting data-driven communication strategies to share findings company-wide in Discord's signature playful style
• Leveraging analytics to optimize other Workplace Operations team focus areas (events, vendor management, workplace services, etc.)
• Contribute hands-on operationally with events, vendor management, daily/weekly office space management, etc. 
• Responding to workplace support tickets and providing workplace support throughout the office
• Being available for employees to come to with office related questions and requests
• Providing a safe, secure, comfortable, and inclusive office environment

What you should have:

• 4+ year's experience working in a workplace support role
• Strong analytical background with proficiency in Excel and experience with data visualization tools (examples: Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Experience with workplace analytics platforms (examples: Envoy, Avuity, VergeSense, Density)
• Working knowledge of workplace technology and space planning concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and experience translating data into business insights
• Ability to seamlessly switch between technical/analytical thinking and creative, people-focused communication
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for making data engaging and accessible
• Ability to lift 30 lbs

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience creating internal communications or content that makes complex information fun and digestible
• Project management experience or certification
• Experience with vendor management
• Experience supporting multiple office locations

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 to $112,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
