WHAT TO EXPECT

We are seeking a dynamic Workplace Experience professional to oversee the daily operations of our San Francisco office and play a key role in its ongoing growth and development. In this role, you will not only support our local team but also collaborate with colleagues across Braze to drive global workplace operations initiatives.

As our San Francisco office expands, we’re looking for builders—resourceful, hands-on individuals who thrive in ambiguity and can create structure where needed. This position sits within the People Team and reports to the Workplace Experience Regional Manager for AMER.

Braze is a fast-paced, rapidly growing company, and we need a self-starter who exercises sound judgment, takes initiative, and proactively enhances the employee experience. You’ll maintain a strong pulse on the needs of our San Francisco employees and be adaptable to evolving global conditions and workplace dynamics. This role will be required to be in-office 5 days per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Oversee workplace site operations, managing various programs (e.g., food, snacks, mail, and packages) to deliver a seamless day-to-day employee experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for local receptionist, who covers all reception needs, greeting visitors with professionalism and ensuring prompt notification to their hosts.
  • Maintain a welcoming and well-organized reception area, creating a positive first impression for employees, clients, partners, vendors, and guests.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all who enter the San Francisco office, upholding Braze’s high standards of hospitality.
  • Monitor and respond to workplace service tickets, maintaining a customer-focused mindset to ensure top-tier service for San Francisco employees.
  • Oversee desk management, collaborating with the Workplace Experience team to support hybrid working arrangements.
  • Lead the new hire onboarding experience locally by facilitating in-person orientation, delivering engaging office tours, and fostering meaningful local connections.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of workplace initiatives, policies, processes, and tools, including strategies related to hybrid work.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business partners (e.g., IT, Finance, Employee Experience), acting as a trusted advisor on workplace matters.
  • Engage proactively with leadership and employees, leveraging data to understand and support the evolving needs of the San Francisco team.
  • Manage vendor relationships, schedule repairs, and ensure partnerships with best-in-class suppliers, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with San Francisco building management, ensuring smooth communication and efficient resolution of any facility-related matters.
  • Work closely with Procurement and your manager to onboard new vendors, process quotes, and push through proposals to meet deadlines.
  • Support budget tracking and financial planning for the San Francisco office.
  • Own event planning and deliver locally relevant events, such as anniversary celebrations, mixers, ERG activations, and more.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3-4 years of experience in Workplace role, experience of site lead a plus
  • Experience in change management, administration and vendor management
  • Experience working with building management; union building experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization with an ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience with office moves and build-outs
  • Experience working in offices and workplace experience for a hybrid workforce, delivering creative solutions to engage a distributed workforce
  • Data-driven with a mindset of continual improvement
  • Demonstrated success in building strong relationships cross-functionally
  • A strong communicator, keeping teams and stakeholders informed and up to date
  • Passion for best-in-class workplace experience and customer service
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to set own priorities with minimal supervision; experience having remote manager a plus
  • A creative problem-solver, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the table
  • A sharp eye for detail and a sense of office pride
  • An awesome can-do attitude - no task is too big or too small

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
