The Opportunity

We’re adding a Client Success Partner to our Workday Practice — a senior relationship role built for someone who combines deep Workday domain expertise with the executive presence and consultative instincts to serve as a long-term strategic partner to our public sector clients.

This is a trusted advisor position that sits at the intersection of client relationship, delivery oversight, and strategic growth — and it is central to how Meridian differentiates itself in the market.

Why Meridian — And Why Now

There’s no shortage of Workday partners. Here’s what’s different about this one:

This role is built into how we win. The Client Success Partner isn’t a post-sale support function at Meridian — it’s a core part of our market differentiation. When clients choose Meridian, the promise of a long-term trusted advisor is part of what they’re buying.

You’ll work alongside a strong delivery team. Our Engagement Managers and delivery practitioners are experienced, mission-oriented, and accountable. You won’t be cleaning up messes — you’ll be amplifying strong delivery with strategic relationship leadership.

You’ll have a real partner in Client Development. The Client Development Executive who supports your accounts is aligned with you, not competing with you. Expansion opportunities you identify go through a collaborative, supported pursuit process — not a handoff into a black hole.

The territory is real. Public sector Workday spend is accelerating. State and local governments, K–12 districts, and federal agencies are actively expanding Workday footprints. Meridian has a 20+ year track record serving these clients. Your portfolio will be real accounts with real depth.

The compensation reflects the role. We recognize that trusted advisor relationships drive long-term revenue. This role is compensated accordingly — with a strong base, meaningful variable tied to outcomes you can actually influence, and a clear path to Director, Client Success.

The culture is human. We’re a firm built on integrity, mission, and relationships. Our clients feel it. Our team feels it. You will too!

Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Trusted Advisor

  • Own the executive client relationship for a portfolio of Meridian’s public sector accounts, independent of any single active engagement
  • Serve as the primary strategic point of contact for agency and district leadership — the person clients call when something matters, not just when something breaks
  • Conduct regular executive business reviews (EBRs) to align on outcomes, surface strategic priorities, and demonstrate Meridian’s ongoing value
  • Build deep, multi-threaded relationships across client organizations — CHRO, CFO, CIO, and operational leadership
  • Represent the client’s voice internally, advocating for their interests across delivery, product, and practice leadership

Delivery Oversight & Engagement Health

  • Maintain visibility into the health of active Meridian engagements within your accounts — not as a project manager, but as an executive sponsor and escalation point
  • Partner with Engagement Managers to anticipate risks, navigate organizational complexity, and protect the client relationship during delivery challenges
  • Attend steering committee meetings and key delivery milestones as Meridian’s senior relationship representative
  • Ensure seamless onboarding of new engagements by bridging the Client Development Executive handoff and setting the tone for the client experience from day one

Growth & Expansion

  • Identify and shape expansion opportunities within your account portfolio — new Workday modules, Phase X work, AMS, optimization, and staff augmentation
  • Partner closely with the Client Development Executive to qualify, frame, and advance expansion opportunities through the pursuit process
  • Contribute to proposal development and orals presentations for expansion engagements, lending delivery credibility and client context to the pursuit team
  • Maintain a clear view of each client’s Workday roadmap and align Meridian’s capabilities to their strategic direction

Practice & Market Contribution

  • Bring structured client feedback and market intelligence back to Meridian’s practice leadership to inform service development and go-to-market strategy
  • Contribute to Meridian’s public sector thought leadership through written content, speaking engagements, and ecosystem participation
  • Mentor Client Success Advisors and support their development toward the Client Success Partner level
  • Represent Meridian at Workday Rising, public sector user groups, and regional events as a recognized voice in the ecosystem

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience serving in a delivery leadership or client-facing oversight role on Workday engagements (Engagement Manager, Practice Lead, Delivery Director, or equivalent)
  • 7+ years of experience in Workday consulting, implementation, or client-facing roles within the Workday ecosystem
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a trusted advisor to public sector executives — state/local government, K–12, federal agencies, or non-profit organizations
  • Deep functional knowledge of Workday HCM, Financials, Payroll, or related Workday modules — sufficient to credibly advise clients on platform strategy and roadmap
  • Ability to work standard East Coast hours

Pay Transparency

Compensation for roles at Meridian varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific practice, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Meridian provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.

Base Salary Range is $190,000 - $225,000 plus commission for an OTE of $285,000 - $338,000 is available for this specific role.  There is no cap on commissions.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
