We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Client Development Executive to join our dynamic Client Development Team. The Client Development Executive will play a key role in supporting the Client Development Team and in driving new business opportunities. This position requires both strong organizational skills and the ability to engage with potential and existing customers. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, while helping to achieve sales goals.

As a Client Development Executive at Skillcentrix, you will be a part of the Client Development Team, which falls within the broader Go-To-Market (GTM) Team. The GTM Team includes both Client Development and Marketing Teams. In your position, you will be responsible for sales development and sales support. Your mission is two-fold: 1) to identify, progress, and close select revenue-generating opportunities with prospects and customers; and 2) to support other Client Development Team members in driving and ultimately closing more large-scale, strategic sales cycle pursuits.

Responsibilities:

Sales Development (50%)

1. MEETINGS & ACTIVITIES: Drive attendance and engagement with prospects, customers, and Workday constituents by pursuing, setting, conducting, and hosting meetings and

other business development activities [e.g., Workday Rising and Sales Kickoff (SKO), Region User Groups, webinars, campaign activities, industry events]

2. OUTBOUND PROSPECTING: Proactively source, identify, and begin qualifying opportunities with prospects and customers through outbound activities

3. INBOUND PROSPECTING: In collaboration with Marketing Team, actively monitor inbound prospect/customer engagement (e.g., website subscription/contact notification, webinar registration, LinkedIn activity), investigate customer/contact, appropriately track, respond and/or route to other Client Development Team members as needed

4. RE-ENGAGEMENT PROSPECTING: Develop and deploy re-engagement strategies for stalled or longer-term opportunities on an ongoing and consistent basis

5. CLOSING DEALS: Drive select opportunities, as determined with Client Development leaders (e.g., deals that are within Medium Enterprise, have short sales cycles, are tactical in nature, or some renewal-based) to closure; and route more strategic, large-scale opportunities to the appropriate Client Development Team member(s) to further qualify and drive to closure

Support (50%)

1. PIPELINE HYGEINE: Work closely with Client Development Team (including sales operations) to ensure accurate and timely pipeline and other sales data/performance metrics are properly captured and maintained in both internal (e.g., CRM/HubSpot) and external (e.g., Workday Partner Center) systems

2. RELATIONSHIP HEAT MAP: Work with Client Development Team to determine and track relationship owners across key Workday contacts, and to create and maintain a relationship heat map. Support Customer Development Team in driving efficient and effective territory management

3. COMMUNICATION: Represent Skillcentrix with exceptional written and oral communication and professionalism, as often you will be the first point of contact with prospects

4. DEAL SUPPORT: Assist in coordination and completion of proposal, procurement, RFI/RFP, and deal closure activities (e.g., presentations, deal review preparation, vendor system setup, risk assessment questionnaires, contracts, sales-to-service transitions)

5. MEETING ADMINISTRATION: Assist with scheduling, preparing, notetaking, and follow-ups for internal, prospect/customer, and Workday meetings (including Insights Workshops)

6. WAYS OF WORKING: Identify patterns and trends across internal and external communications and activities; liaison observations and make suggestions to GTM Team to drive streamlined, efficient processes and enhance collaboration

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
