The WMS Implementation Engineer is both a technical expert and a domain expert in warehousing responsible for onboarding customers onto ShipHawk’s Warehouse Management System. You’ll play a key role in implementation projects end-to-end — from discovery through go-live — translating complex operational requirements into effective software configurations. Along the way, you will also collaborate with customers to review their operational processes and adjust as necessary to get the most out of our WMS solution.
You’ll combine customer consulting, system configuration, and some basic project management to deliver exceptional implementation experiences. Most engagements are remote, though some may require on-site support.
This role requires hands-on experience implementing WMS solutions, experience with the core practices in warehousing, and strong SQL skills for configuration, data validation, and issue resolution.
What You’ll Do- Lead full-cycle WMS implementations for ShipHawk customers, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Perform discovery to uncover detailed receiving, picking, packing, and shipping requirements across domestic and international operations.
- Translate operational processes into ShipHawk workflows and configurations.
- Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and integration support.
- Identify gaps or enhancement opportunities and collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to resolve them.
- Recommend process improvements that help customers maximize ROI from ShipHawk.
- Guide customers through user acceptance testing (UAT) and go-live readiness.
- Maintain consistent communication with customer stakeholders and internal teams.
- Transition customers seamlessly to the Support team post-implementation.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience implementing WMS software in customer-facing roles.
- Proficiency in SQL — able to write queries for data analysis and configuration validation.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, shipping).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- Proven organizational and project management skills; able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Experience implementing shipping, TMS, or logistics platforms.
- Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite or Acumatica.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, APIs (Postman), or JavaScript.
At ShipHawk, AI is infrastructure, not an experiment. Every role is required to actively use AI tools to redesign workflows, automate repeatable tasks, and build durable systems that increase speed, leverage, and customer impact. Passive adoption is not sufficient. Team members are expected to proactively identify opportunities to automate processes, build scalable systems, and eliminate repetitive work — increasing impact without increasing complexity or headcount.
